Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Farley Auto, operated by Mike Farley in Montreal, Québec, Canada ("Farley Auto", "I", "me"), collects, uses, and protects personal information when you use farleyauto.com (the "Site") or purchase a service.

1. What I collect

Information you provide: your name and email at checkout; the details you enter in the order form (budget, the kind of car you want, your city, how far you would travel); your phone number if you share it; messages and files you send me by email, chat, text, or WhatsApp; and reviews you choose to submit.

Payment information: payments are processed by Shopify's checkout and its payment providers. I never see or store your full card number. Shopify's privacy policy is available at shopify.com/legal/privacy.

Collected automatically: IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, and similar technical data, collected through the Shopify platform and cookies for security, site operation, and analytics.

2. How I use it

I use personal information to deliver the service you bought (it is a personal service, so the details you give me are the raw material of the work), to communicate with you about your order, to process payments and prevent fraud, to improve the Site, to display reviews you have chosen to submit, and to meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations. I do not sell personal information, and I do not send marketing email without your consent.

3. Who it is shared with

Shopify: hosts the Site, the checkout, and order data.
Judge.me: powers the review system; processes review content you submit.
Meta (Facebook/Instagram): the Site uses the Meta pixel and conversion tools for advertising measurement. This may involve sharing limited data (such as that a purchase occurred) with Meta. You can opt out of non-essential cookies, and Meta's choices are at facebook.com/ads/preferences.
Google Workspace: I prepare and deliver your results (for example your ranked car list) using Google tools.
Messaging providers: if you contact me on WhatsApp or by text, those platforms process the messages under their own policies.
Authorities: only where required by law.

I do not sell personal information and I do not share it for third-party marketing beyond the advertising measurement described above.

4. Cookies

The Site uses essential cookies to function (cart, checkout, security) and optional cookies for analytics and advertising measurement. You can manage optional cookies through the Site's cookie preferences and your browser settings.

5. Retention

Order records are kept as long as required for tax and accounting purposes. Messages and working files are kept as long as useful to serve you (including honoring the $49 credit and any follow-up help), after which they are deleted. You can request deletion at any time, subject to what the law requires me to keep.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information I hold about you, correct it, delete it, receive a copy, withdraw consent, or restrict certain uses. This includes rights under PIPEDA (Canada), Québec's Law 25, the GDPR (EU/UK), and the CCPA/CPRA (California). California residents: I do not sell personal information; the Meta pixel described above may constitute "sharing" for advertising measurement under the CPRA, and you can opt out by declining optional cookies or contacting me. To exercise any right, email mike@farleyauto.com. I may need to verify your identity, and I will respond within the timelines the applicable law requires. Québec residents may also file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information (cai.gouv.qc.ca).

7. Security and breach notification

The Site runs on Shopify's secured infrastructure with encryption in transit. Access to your information is limited to me. No system is infallible; if a confidentiality incident presents a risk of serious injury, I will notify affected individuals and, where required by Québec's Law 25, the Commission d'accès à l'information.
